Each of us carries within a map of memory. The map is worn at the folds--sometimes right through--and so place names are missing first letters or last or have a hole through the middle. We carry those maps with us always, and this map is mine--an island on the edge of the world and beyond it a place of dragons and sunken cities with bells that still ring a thousand years on... So begins Where Butterflies Dream, the fifth book in the award-winning Exit Unicorns series. The story opens in the winter of 1978 when Casey Riordan returns from three years in exile to find the world he left behind has changed. With little knowledge of his past, he fears the secrets which might well bring danger to his family, and the question he must answer for himself--whether a man can ever truly return home when he is no longer the man he once was. Pamela Riordan has grieved her lost husband for three long years but has forged a new life for herself in his absence. Still scarred from the violence which has so recently visited her, she wants only to keep her family safe and to find an oasis of peace in which to raise them. But in Northern Ireland peace always comes at a price. Jamie Kirkpatrick is forced to deal with the ghosts of his past in order to save his present, and the fragile happiness he has only just found. Casey's return forces all three to confront the ideas of what love means, what makes a family and how one copes with a history that weighs heavily upon the future. Even as they navigate the new territory of their personal lives, history keeps moving onward and all will be drawn into the the political maelstrom of the Irish Troubles. The storm will spread beyond the boundary of family to a new generation caught up in the tides of history, their fates rushing toward a merciless shore. Where Butterflies Dream is the story of a family, a people, a country and of that most mysterious territory of all--the geography of the human soul.

This Butterfly Dreams is a juvenile fiction book(primarily for children ages circa 2-7 years) written in English and Spanish(Espanol) by Christopher Kenneth Hanson. This book is about butterflies & angels including the exploration of what, in terms of imagination, a butterfly may dream of. The butterfly & friends(other butterflies & angels) often interact throughout the book. Additionally, the butterflies love music as do the angels & they find multiple locations to play music, sing to the moon & greet one another as pals. Moreover, the book features beautiful imagery and interesting dream-like verse/text. All in all, This Butterfly Dreams is a wholesome book that I believe young readers will enjoy. Thank you. Sincerely, Christopher.

Here we have over one hundred and fifty translations of haiku verses, largely composed by the five most famous of haiku poets. All use insects as seasonal topics to set the scene in spring, summer or autumn. But the definition of insects in complicated because in the Sino-Japanese tradition the insect genus includes frogs as well as bees, spiders as well as silverfish, angleworms as well as gnats, and snakes as well as ants. This expanded category is here called creeping things, reflecting a similar division of fauna in the Bible. It seems appropriate that the Japanese would use what is surely the world's shortest poetic form consisting of a mere seventeen syllables arranged in lines of 5,7,5 to describe the miniscule world of creeping things. In so doing, they expressed kernels of poetic inspiration in a few simple words, eschewing the doggerel that so often has followed a brilliant line and leaving to the imagination place and time, for the beauty of the haiku often lies in what is only hunted and left unsaid.
I think my butterfly dreams were about longing. I would stand beneath a great

clouds of butterflies drawn to the blossom. Mostly, I remember, they were familiar

Much more than just another field guide or a natural history of butterflies Rainbow Dust explores the ways in which butterflies delight and inspire us all, naturalists and non-naturalists alike. Beginning with the author's own experience of hunting and rearing butterflies as a boy, Peter Marren considers the special place of the butterfly in art, literature, advertising and science, and, latterly, our attempts to conserve them. Rainbow Dust takes in the controversy over collecting, the women who studied them and the curious details that lead to butterflies being feared as well as loved. This is a celebration of butterflies; one shot through with a sense of wonder but also of sorrow at what we are losing.
