Why can't you just say yes?' His lips were smiling, but his eyes were serious, and she knew she was getting in too deep. She sat up again and called the children. 'Come on, we have to go. I've got work to do.

Just Say Yes

Matthew had fallen for Georgia the moment he sat opposite her on a train. Accidentally walking off with the wrong mobile phone gave him the ideal opportunity to see her again. After her late husband had left her with a pile of debts, Georgia had a phobia about having a man in her life. Matthew Fraser might have been rich, he might have been wonderful with her kids, he might have continually come to her rescue… But no, she wouldn't be swayed; she wouldn't let this man under her skin. But Matthew was a patient man, and equally determined…

Just Say Yes

What will it take for you to just say yes?” he asks. Holy shit! Did he just say what I think he did? A breath escapes my lips before I reply to him. “I missed you too, and I have never stopped loving you either.

Whether he’s leading a company or leading the call for a better nation, storied New York businessman and philanthropist Bernard Schwartz believes in the power of optimism. Bernard Schwartz has dined with world leaders, cut a multi billion-dollar deal on the back of a napkin, and led a Fortune 200 corporation. From humble beginnings that saw his family moving regularly from apartment to apartment to take advantage of new lease discounts to his dramatic rise to CEO of a major aerospace innovator, the author’s story is a narrative on the importance of character, intelligence, and a lot of good luck. In a time when stories about corrupt CEOs and unethical banking practices flood the news, Schwartz offers the notion that doing the right thing is a more rewarding road to accomplishment, and that when applied for immoral purposes even the sharpest skills will likely lead to a fall. As Americans today await the return of economic stability and politicians wage battle over the future of government programs, opportunity seems out of reach. But Schwartz, who grew up in Depression-era Brooklyn, believes that there are steps we can take as a nation to bring about a recovery and even growth. As a child, he watched men dress for work each day whether they held a job or not. He remembers the widespread deprivation that filled everyday scenes and the streets with breadlines. But he also recalls a hopeful people; a citizenry united in the pursuit of education, homeownership, proprietorship, and community improvement. Today, he champions investments in job creation, infrastructure, technology, and innovation as the means to get us back on track. With measured insight on the role the federal government can play in creating pathways to prosperity, the author discusses how the United States can again be a land of opportunity for all. In this inspiring example of a life well lived, Bernard Schwartz invites readers to look at their own opportunities, their own ideas, and even their fellow Americans and Just Say Yes.

Just Say Yes A Chronicle of A Stroke Survivor

Say yes. Just say yes!” I could hear him better now. My thought process was clearer at this moment in time. “Okay, do it, give me the clot buster,” I tell the nurse. “Did I hear you say you want the clot buster IV?

Just Say Yes A Chronicle of A Stroke Survivor

This book is a chronicle of the events of my battle with a stroke. I was informed and I fought hard and survived. During the stroke and my recovery I felt as if I had been in a dream state. I was not frightened but I had a determined attitude and inner strength. It felt like my soul knew everything was going to be okay. In retrospect, I felt I had a purpose in life and part of that was to complete this book so others could be more informed. I wanted to increase their awareness of the importance of acknowledging stroke symptoms and getting immediate help at the onset.

I Am Crying God

What is it that you want me to say yes to? I thought I was saying yes. So why do you continue to tell me to just say yes? The one “yes” that so strongly rested upon my heart is the “yes” that brought me into union with my husband.

I Am Crying God

My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). This book is a cry to the souls of humanity. It uncovers the unhealthy mind-sets that have penetrated the church, causing leaders to surrender their wills to a false deception of the Word of God, leaving his people in a fragile and vulnerable state. Churches have been destroyed, families divided, and marriages shattered. It demonstrates how Gods people have allowed the spirit of deception to manipulate, control, divide, and conquer. It brings to the forefront the seriousness and undeniable need for emotional healing amongst the people of Goda healing that affects the hearts and minds, restoring health and wholeness in our very existence.

Evaluative Research Methods

How do research students and their supervisors respond in a world of ‘fake news’, the destabilisation of public institutions and the rise of populism? The very foundations of our liberal democracies seem to be under threat, and this implicates social inquiry. Postgraduate research remains one of the few information spaces which are still free of politicisation and committed to validation. This book focuses on democracy in inquiry, and on the role of inquiry in a democracy – how research helps us to deliberate over what counts as of public value. It is a research methods book, but methods shaped by political and ethical purposes, and by the challenge of making judgements about what, in the public sphere, is worthy. We may be looking at a police training program, the siting of a clean energy project, a new school curriculum, maternal health program or an environmental adaptation project – in each case and in others like them we have to negotiate perspectives and claims, forge and justify a consensus, support competing stakeholders with the best information and analyses possible. And we have to make our work defensible – undeniable in the forum of public debate and exchange, examination and accountability. This book, full of examples from contemporary research projects, is designed to help navigate our way through the complexities of social research which focuses on judgements about public action. The book was written with research students and includes examples of their work. It recognises that supervisors often struggle as much as students in meeting the challenges of inquiry that involves some element of evaluative judgement – inquiry that potentially carries consequences. Where there are no quick-and-ready recipes, check-lists or theoretical frameworks – where we confront the particularities of the context in which the research takes place, we are all forced back onto good methodological thinking, and this is the pedagogical framing of the book.

Dangerous Voyage to Alpha Centauri

In the year 2044, scientists have revealed new advances to extend the longevity of human life. Within the next years the world's population explodes by more than one billion people each year. Though millions live already deep under the moon's surface, it becomes necessary to search for planets outside our solar system. Tim Turner, a teacher and scientist, tackles this mission by traveling to the sun's next star, Alpha Centauri. The isolation of his task drives him to the edge of lunacy, but what he discovers could prevent the human race from destroying itself. When Turner returns to Earth thirty-six years later, he comes back to an unthinkable situation. What has happened during his absence-and what has become of the two women he loves most? A tantalizing mix of science fiction and love story, Dangerous Voyage to Alpha Centauri poses a fascinating question: Could this plot become a reality for the Earth and its residents in the not-so-distant future?

Nothing Personal Seeing Beyond the Illusion of a Separate Self

Advaita and nondual teachings are about finding the Truth. This Truth is not a dogma that you study; it is the Truth about life †the Truth about who you really are. This Truth is discovered, not learned. It is discovered through sincerely inquiring, Who am I? What you discover is that who you are has nothing to do with self-images or roles and everything to do with what you experience when you ask this question. What you discover is that who you think of yourself as is just that †a thought! And beyond that thought is a great Mystery †an experience of nothingness, which is your true nature.Nothing Personal leads you to the experience of your true nature and helps you explore its depth. Through exposition, questions and dialogues, it brings you to a place of realization of the Truth: you are that spacious Awareness in which everything appears, including your thoughts and feelings. Your thoughts and feelings do not define you but merely appear within Consciousness along with everything else. This Consciousness is who you are.Nothing Personal offers a gentle and persistent guide to seeing the underlying truth of your ultimate nature. In this concisely edited collection of satsang talks and dialogues, you are invited to honor the limitless love that is your true nature and to enjoy the sweet richness that is revealed when you give this Truth your undivided attention. From the introduction:Unlike most books, this one is not meant to add to your knowledge or understanding. It is about the Truth that cannot be spoken or written. Although the Truth cannot be contained in this or any other book, each word written here is intended to point you toward that Truth. Many of the words and ideas may seem paradoxical or contradictory because what they point to is larger than our conceptual frameworks. Many questions are asked, which are not answered anywhere in the book. Find out what the experience is like to ask yourself these questions, even if they leave you emptier of knowledge and understanding. In this emptying, you just may discover what you are looking for.The Truth is revealed when we allow ourselves to not know, so I invite you to set aside all that you know for the time being and allow yourself to look with innocent eyes at what the words are attempting to unveil. Take the time to experience the unspoken truth in each section before moving on to the next. Resist the temptation to read these words with your mind, which is likely to rush right past the Truth. Allow the words to sink into your heart and reveal the truth of who you are.
