Author: Cheryl Simone,Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev
Pubpsher: Hampton Roads Publishing
Constructed around a series of late night conversations around a camp fire between Cheryl Simone and Sadhguru Vasudev on an Island in the middle of a Western North Carolina lake near her mountain home, Midnights with the Mystic is the most thorough exposition of the teachings of India's most sought after mystic. Sadhguru challenges us to embrace the possibility that to each of us is available a higher realm of reality, a peak of consciousness; an entrée into the realm of freedom and bliss. Simone, an Atlanta real estate developer, was the typical baby boomer in search of an authentic spiritual experience. Professionally successful, yet spiritually arid, she discovered a way into what she was looking for in the teachings of Sadhguru. Concrete and down-to-earth, Midnights with the Mystic both provides readers with an introduction to profound spiritual teaching and a personal glimpse of a charismatic guru.

Within most pre-modern, Indian traditions of yoga, the role of the guru is absolutely central. Indeed, it was often understood that yoga would simply not work without the grace of the guru. The modern period saw the dawn of new, democratic, scientific modes of yoga practice and teaching. While teachings and gurus have always adapted to the times and circumstances, the sheer pace of cultural change ushered in by modernity has led to some unprecedented innovations in the way gurus present themselves and their teachings, and the way they are received by their students. Gurus of Modern Yoga explores the contributions of individual gurus to the formation of the practices and discourses of yoga today. The focus is not limited to India, but also extends to the teachings of yoga gurus in the modern, transnational world, and within the Hindu diaspora. Each section deals with a different aspect of the guru within modern yoga. Included are extensive considerations of the transnational tantric guru; the teachings of modern yoga's best-known guru, T. Krishnamacharya, and those of his principal disciples; the place of technology, business and politics in the work of global yoga gurus; and the role of science and medicine. As a whole, the book represents an extensive and diverse picture of the place of the guru, both past and present, in contemporary yoga practice.
Journey into the story of a devastating war between two species of men, and the individuals who rise up against the hatred of their enemy and press on to find a peaceful resolution. Following the Salem Witch Hunt, comes a three-hundred-year war between the bloodline of the first of the witch hunters and the witches/warlocks. The hunters believe that the witches want to destroy all of humanity, and they’re right, but not for their own pleasure, but for survival. The witches and warlock call themselves mystics, and they only fight back because of the horrors of men force them to. Mystics have a spiritually enlightening ability that enables them to become on with creationism. Because of the hatred within the mystic’s hearts, they aren’t able to open themselves up to the enlightenment, all except for one that is. The one known to the mystics as the Prodigy experiences an existential sensation that shows him humanity’s hope, love, and willingness to be better. He then leaves the home of the mystics to pursue what may lie in the great beyond. In Salem Massachusetts, the Prodigy finds Kate, a young witch hunter in training who starts to question her true purpose. Together, they journey to discover a peaceful way to end the war of mystics and men.
"Death is a cosmic joke. If you get the joke, when you fall on the other side, it will be wonderful. If you don’t get the joke, when you are here you fear the other side, and when the other side comes, you just don’t know what it is about. If death becomes a laughing matter in your life, life becomes an utterly effortless process – there is no need to restrain yourself in the process of life; you can live your life absolutely, totally." – Sadhguru For ages, most of humanity has placed 'life' and 'death' at two ends of the existential spectrum – favoring one, fearing the other and continuously floundering between the two. Only when someone who has consciously traversed between both life and death offers to articulate some aspects of it, does humanity get a glimpse of what lies beyond the horizon of its normal perception. In this book, with his extraordinary insights, coming from a profound inner experience, Sadhguru reveals that life and death are, in fact, two sides of the same coin. It is only by embracing both that we can break the shackles of our self-made struggles and be set free. With numerous vibrant colour images, the book is a breath-taking journey through Sadhguru’s wisdom.

A study of Salman Rushdie's seven published novels, with a special focus on his earliest, "Grimus", and his most provocative, "Midnight's Children", "Shame" and "The Satanic Verses". It shows how Rushdie employs cosmology, mythology and mysticism to structure otherworldly dramas.
