Dr. Jampolsky believes there is another way of looking at life that makes it possible for us to walk through this world in love, at peace and without fear. This other way requires no external battles, but only that we heal ourselves. It is a process he calls “attitudinal healing,” because it is an internal and primarily mental process. Jampolsky believes that attitudinal healing, when properly practiced, will allow anyone, regardless of her circumstances, to begin experiencing the joy and harmony that each moment holds, and to start her journey on a path of love and hope. The mind can be retrained. Within this fact lies our freedom. Our attitudes determine whether we experience peace or fear, whether we are well or sick, free or imprisoned. Love, in its true meaning, is the attitude that this book is about. Love is total acceptance and total giving—with no boundaries and no exceptions. Love, being the only reality, cannot be transformed. It can only extend and expand. It unfolds endlessly and beautifully upon itself. Love sees everyone as blameless, for it recognizes the light within each one of us is. Love is the total absence of fear and the basis for all attitudinal healing. The principles of attitudinal healing have been expanded since Teach Only Love was first published in 1983. There are now twelve principles, which are used in the 150 Centers for Attitudinal Healing around the world. Dr. Jampolsky believes that these principles have a universal appeal that crosses cultural and religious barriers. He has repeatedly seen how people’s lives have transformed when these principles became their heartbeat and their way of communicating with others.

Following the appearance of two stories in The New Yorker, German author, playwright, and journalist Maxim Biller makes his English-language debut with a collection of remarkable and beautifully wrought short stories, Love Today. These twenty-seven exquisite vignettes reveal the frustration, longing, and loneliness of human intimacy and love in the twenty-first century. A moment of dialogue between two people seated in an empty bar in "Baghdad at Seven-Thirty" evokes fragility, helplessness, and regret. The childhood friends who meet accidentally throughout the years in "Ziggy Stardust" are alternately drawn toward and repulsed from each other; and the fleeting text messages exchanged in "The Maserati Years" change everything between two lovers in an instant. Collectively, the result is romantic, voyeuristic, and deeply moving. Already a force in contemporary German literature, Maxim Biller has received praise from critics and readers alike throughout Europe for his perceptive, enchanting prose and the hauntingly familiar emotions his stories can provoke. Love Today introduces a new and gifted writing talent, and an accomplished international literary voice.
Every Day I Love You More: (Just Not Today!) offers lessons in loving one person for life. It teaches couples to count their blessings, learn from their mistakes, and strengthen the bonds between them. It offers honest, reliable, witty advice, and addresses every couples' day-to-day struggles, as well as ideas that are as clever as they are fun. The tone of the essays will vary, much like the day-to-day mood in a marriage; some are poignant, some hilarious, some thoughtful, some spiritual, and some heart-warming, but all are drawn from real life. Each tale will focus on a different aspect of long-term love, and offer prescriptive suggestions for the reader. Some stories will come from the author's own marriage; others, from a wide range of committed relationships. Each offers gems of wisdom on weathering the bittersweet idiosyncrasies of every marriage, ranging from remembering why you first fell in love with him to knowing when you need time apart to indulging his need for a Lay-Z-Boy recliner. As a result, every couple who've made it past the honeymoon stage will recognize themselves in these pages, and learn to love each other more every day -- even when "every day" starts tomorrow.
During my fourth year of teaching, I had the great privilege of working with an amazing educator by the name of Miss Bezanson. She taught a grade four class to whom I taught Physical Education. Therefore, I had the opportunity to socialize with her on a daily basis. About six months into the school year, Miss Bezanson gave me something that would forever change my teaching techniques and my life, although I did not realize it at that moment. One afternoon, I was in Miss Bezanson's class discussing a student who was displaying increasing behavioural problems in my Physical Education class. Sensing that I was experiencing tremendous stress as a result of this student, she gave me something that touched my heart and reinforced an important life lesson. She handed me a small paper card entitled "Hug Someone You Love Today". That was it! No preachy sermon or fancy teaching strategies. At that moment, I realized that maybe all that child needed was a simple hug. A sign of affection which he may or may not have been receiving at home. So the next day, I gave him a "Hug Someone You Love Today" card. From that day forward, I never had another major problem with that student. It was absolutely amazing. In this book, I will share with you some of the heart-felt, true stories that I have accumulated over the years as a result of passing out these "Hug Someone You Love Today" cards along to those in need. These are stories about normal folks like you and I, whose lives have been positively changed as a result of receiving this simple card. As you read these stories, hopefully you will begin to feel more peaceful and loving yourself.
