Stop That Dog Now an Owner s Guide to a Problem Free Dog

So let's have a few sobering words here about multi-dog ownership. Very few families in today's busy world truly have time to accommodate the needs of more than one pet. We just have a limited amount of time and energy.

Stop That Dog Now an Owner s Guide to a Problem Free Dog

"Stop That Dog Now ' An Owners Guide To A Problem Free Dog is the result of the author's (Sue Clauss) thirty years of experience "in the trenches" training dogs and helping their owners solve their pets behavioral problems. The application of properly performed basic obedience training, which provides self-control in the dog, as the foundation for problem solving as well as the practical corrections and setups, make the approach outlined in this book highly successful for the average pet owner as well as the advanced trainer. Sue Clauss is a professional dog trainer of over thirty years experience. During her career, Ms. Clauss has trained over 5,000 dogs and instructed many more humans in how to train their dogs and solve behavioral problems. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science and is Certified at level II by The North American Society Of Dog Trainers (one of only seven in the country). Ms. Clauss sees the compatible human/ dog relationship as a segue to healing the breach between Mother Earth and her two-legged children. Having operated training centers in both Maryland and Delaware, Ms. Clauss now resides in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia.

Dog of the Decade

What do dogs mean in America? How do Americans make meaning through their dogs? The United States has long expressed its cultural unconscious through canine iconography. Through our dogs, we figure out what we're thinking and who we are, representing by proxy the things that we don't quite want to recognize in ourselves. Often, it's a specific breed or type of dog that serves as an informal cultural mascot, embodying an era's needs, fears, desires, longings, aspirations, repressions, and hopeless contradictions. Combining cultural studies with personal narrative, this book creates a playful, speculative reading of American culture through its canine self-representations. Looking at seven different breeds or types over the last seven decades, readers will go on an intellectual dog walk through some of the mazes of American cultural mythology.

A Lawyer s Guide to Dangerous Dog Issues

Today, many dogs are deemed dangerous, not on the traits of the individual animal, but by breed alone. The authors explain why breed discrimination is unfair, and ineffective, and discuss approaches to handle reckless owners and their dogs. While there is nothing wrong with laws restricting vicious dogs, to have a dog seized or destroyed solely on the basis of its breed flies in the face of common decency.

A New Owner s Guide to Keeshonds Dog Breeds and Dog Care

Remember that experiences with a new dog can shape a child's attitude toward dogs for the rest of his or her life. Responsible parents and dog owners will do all they can to ensure these experiences are as positive as possible.

A New Owner s Guide to Keeshonds Dog Breeds and Dog Care

ABOUT THE BOOK Keeshonds (pronounced kayz-hawndz) are medium-sized dogs with sturdy figures, dramatic two-layer coats and richly plumed tails. Their friendly temperament combined with their outgoing and affectionate nature makes them an excellent choice of pet. The history of the Keeshond makes for interesting reading. According to the American Kennel Club, the breed descended from the Arctic strains found in the Samoyed, the Norwegian Elkhound and the Chow Chow, and changed little over the last two centuries. Originally known as the German Spitz, Keeshonds were particularly popular in Holland during the late 18th century, serving as watchdogs on riverboats and farms. Later, Keeshonds were thrust into the public eye by the leader of the Dutch Patriot political party, Kees de Gyselaer. He gave Keeshonds their new name, thanks to his ownership of a dog named Kees. MEET THE AUTHOR The Hyperink Team works hard to bring you high-quality, engaging, fun content. If ever you have any questions about our products, or suggestions for how we can make them better, please don't hesitate to contact us! Happy reading! EXCERPT FROM THE BOOK Its critical that owners properly socialize any puppy. The socialization process promotes emotional health in your dog and ensures the physical safety of the people and other animals he comes into contact with over the course of his life. You should endeavor to introduce your dog to a wide variety of people, dogs, other animals, sounds and environments at an early age. A socialized Keeshond is a happier, more confident dog and less prone to hypersensitivity to loud and/or unfamiliar sounds. Keeshonds in particular are naturally cautious and sensitive to loud and/or unfamiliar sounds, so its imperative that you devote plenty of time to the socialization process from an early age. The process of socializing your Keeshond should begin by introducing him to many different people. One trick is to ask strangers to pet him and offer a small treat (that you give them). The people you introduce your puppy to should also include well-behaved children, although such interactions should always be properly supervised.
