The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I grab one of the two-litre bottles of water from the fridge and take it back to my room, where I rummage quietly in the bathroom for some paracetamol. I take two and drag my duvet from the fort, climbing back into bed. My phone beeps.

You Are Wonderful

The Lord is Wonderful and is my Bright and Morning Star. He is the Lifter Up Of My Head, my Light, my Strength, my Rock, my Sanctuary and my Refuge. He is the First and the Last, the Almighty and the Chief Among Ten Thousand. He is my Mercy, my Goodness, my Loving Kindness and my Steadfast Love. He is My Prince, my Immanuel and my Father. Come with me and explore the riches and wonders of God's character, through His names and descriptions in the Bible. We will get to know Him better, enter into a deeper intimate relationship with Him and be able to say, "Yes, He is altogether lovely; He is my beloved." Along with my previous two books, "Love Me Passionately" and "You Are Everything," this book encourages you to interact with the Scriptures. This was something done by Joshua, the apostle Paul as well as our Lord. As you speak aloud the text, you will learn the benefits of confessing the Truth, your faith will grow and you will be able to trust God more. Lord, there are times when life does not seem to be fair, but You are good. There are times when it is difficult to lift up my head to You, but You are good. There are times when it is hard to say, "I love You," but You are good. Lord, when I am struggling and in despair, help me, for You are good. Paul F Taylor

Wonderful Worlds

Wonderful Worlds is an explanation to laymen of events in cosmos and earth history, sequences of species life, and interactions of the brain, mind, soul, genome, enzymes, organs, and body. We see development of cultures directed from positions of logic and reason, eventually describing what makes us human. Proposed as beginning even before the accepted moment of the big bang, the cosmos erupts later over billions of years to first life in a progression of species, eventually leading to a fresh look at Homo erectus and newly thought subspecies of Neanderthal, sapiens, and modern man. Presented here are at least thirty alternatives to generally accepted myth, magic, and misclassifications in history. Man with emotions, including an underlying spirituality, combined with soul, brain, mind, genome, and body has experienced his evolution for over 600,000 years of a 13.7 billion-year existence. Only in the past ten thousand years has man acted in society as an intelligent, technical, communicating, calculating, emotional, and spiritual resident of Earth, even to expanding in the universe. This comprehensive collection of alternative views should be on the reading shelf of every person inquisitive of his or her planet Earths birthright.

Reflections of a Wonderful Journey

Our time in the service was one year. After which we were free to move on in any direction that suited us. We were now landed immigrants. Most of us took the advantage of going to night school classes or Shaw Street commercial classes.

Reflections of a Wonderful Journey

This book is dedicated to my mother who was taken from us much too early and my siblings who shared the burden of that loss. It is my solemn hope that the title of this book at a glance would create enough interest that persons would want to read the life's journey of a humble person.

Seeing God Through Hurt

Seeing God Through Hurt, has been a blessing to many people who have read or even received a copy from someone else. The feedback that my staff and I get have been very positive and encouraging. When something can motivate or encourage someone in there own life is what any author should want when they publish an inspirational book. I have been blessed to do many radio inverviews, television interviews and several seminars. With this book we are working on workshops that are to help others overcome stuations, and issues that they may be facing and unsure as to how to get through. Seeing God through Hurt is the tool and book just for people who think they cannot make it through, and as I state in my book all things are possible with God!!!! See you at my next book signing. Follow me with events on my website at "scarterinspirations.jimdo.com". Sincerly, Your Author of the faith, Sandra K. Carter

Tales of the Strange and Wonderful

I've heard that lots of times. And “pride goeth before a fall”. I love the old sayings that my grandparents and their friends used to quote. There is a lot of truth and common sense in some of the old sayings.

Tales of the Strange and Wonderful

Outside the box. Out of the mainstream. Tales of the Strange and Wonderful uncovers some of the strangest and most wonderful stories of the Bible and brings them to you as only an old turkey hunter can spin them. You will enjoy the stories you are about to read in this book. David Kerr has a wholesome, mischievous sense of humor with a creative insight reminiscent of those early homemade philosophers who have endeared themselves to American readers for over one-hundred-fifty years; although the earliest are seldom read much anymore. In these stories, you will find some long-familiar Biblical themes viewed from a different perspective, which sometimes embellishes, sometimes disturbs, but will bring a smile, if not a laugh. You will find that they come back to you in your thoughts. They are stories that can be read again and again. You will relate to the events, people, and activities included in this wonderfully witty collection of stories. From "The Witch of Endor" to "The Maniac of Gardara," they will enrich your life in surprising ways.

Wonderful Things

It took me some time to realize this and I think now that this may be the result of the curators for both exhibitions being academics rather than museum professionals ; it reflects our professional lives . When I mentioned this to Robin ...

Wonderful Things

"The essays collected in this book were delivered at the XLII Spring Symposium of Byzantine Studies, held in London [at King's College and at the Courtauld Institute of Art] in 2009 to accompany the exhibition Byzantium 330-1453, at the Royal Academy [held October 25, 2008-March 22, 2009; a collaboration between the Royal Academy of Arts and the Benaki Museum in Athens]. The exhibition was one of the most ambitious and complex exhibitions ever mounted at the Royal Academy, as well as one of the most popular, and the overall aim of the book is to reflect on the exhibition of Byzantine art, both as an academic and popular exercise, and through the choice and discussion of individual objects. Exhibitions present a very different picture of Byzantium and its culture from works of history. The choices of object for display, their arrangement, and the underlying aims of exhibition curators and designers mean that every exhibition presents a different picture of Byzantium. Particular emphases can be placed, whether on everyday life or high court culture; Constantinople or the provinces; or claims of continuity or change over the Byzantine millennium. The essays explore aspects of the image of Byzantium that results from these choices. Given the enormous popularity of exhibitions of Byzantine objects (continued after the completion of this volume by exhibitions in Paris, Bonn and Istanbul), art has become one of the most popular and accessible means of popularizing Byzantium to a wide public audience. Hitherto there has been no general consideration of either the historiography of Byzantine exhibitions or the ways in which they have been set up to present different aspects of Byzantine culture to an academic and general public.

All the Ugly and Wonderful Things

As the daughter of a drug dealer, Wavy knows not to trust people, not even her own parents. It's safer to keep her mouth shut and stay out of sight. Struggling to raise her little brother, Donal, eight-year-old Wavy is the only responsible adult around. Obsessed with the constellations, she finds peace in the starry night sky above the fields behind her house, until one night her star gazing causes an accident. After witnessing his motorcycle wreck, she forms an unusual friendship with one of her father's thugs, Kellen, a tattooed ex-con with a heart of gold. By the time Wavy is a teenager, her relationship with Kellen is the only tender thing in a brutal world of addicts and debauchery. When tragedy rips Wavy's family apart, a well-meaning aunt steps in, and what is beautiful to Wavy looks ugly under the scrutiny of the outside world. Kellen may not be innocent, but he is the fixed point in Wavy and Donal's chaotic universe. Instead of playing it safe, Wavy has to learn to fight for Kellen, for her brother, and for herself.
