Essentials of Rorschach Assessment provides an invaluable resource for clinicians, offering the only step-by-step guidance toward all aspects of the Rorschach Comprehensive System and Rorschach Performance Assessment System (R-PAS). Beginning with an overview of the tests' history and development, the discussion delves into each test separately before placing the two side by side for direct comparison of administration, coding, and interpretation. The same case study is used for both tests, providing a start-to-finish example of how the Comprehensive System and R-PAS differ, and practical resources including checklists, charts, and sample forms help ease implementation, use, and transition. Thorough explanations break down the jargon and technical language to give clinicians a clearer understanding of both tests without sacrificing precision or depth of information, providing a quick and easy reference for Rorschach personality assessment.

Analyzing Interactions in CSCL: Methodology, Approaches, and Issues deepens the understanding of ways to document and analyze interactions in CSCL and informs the design of the next generation of CSCL tools. It provides researchers with several alternative methodologies, theoretical underpinnings of the methods used, data indicating how the method worked, guidance for using the methods, implications for understanding collaborative processes and their effect on learning outcomes and implications for design. CSCL research tends to span across several disciplines such as education, psychology, computer science and artificial intelligence. As a result, the methods for data collection and analysis are interdisciplinary, from fields such as sociology, anthropology, psychology, computer science, and artificial intelligence. This book brings perspectives together, and provides researchers with an array of methodologies to document and analyze collaborative interactions.

Within 50 years computers could have capabilities rivaling that of the human brain. Effective utilization of such new technologies poses a significant challenge to the computer science community, which finds an ever increasing number of complex applications within its technological grasp. In addition to increased complexity, most, if not all, of these applications are also accompanied by an inherent increase in the consequences associated with their failure, resulting in the construction of increasingly high consequence complex systems. Systems that fall within this domain are beyond the ability to construct in a brute force manner. There are two major challenges in developing such systems: manage complexity and provide sufficient evidence that the system satisfies dependability constraints. Society is tacitly relying on the research community to solve these problems on a timetable satisfying the needs of industry. While impressive results have been obtained, the research community is still, to some extent, hamstrung by the lack of realistic case study problems against which to benchmark new techniques and approaches. The purpose of High Integrity Software is to explore a cross-section of some of the most promising areas of research in the construction of high consequence complex systems, for example, a case study involving the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system. Because of its scope and complexity, the BART case study is being recognized by many in the formal methods community as one of the definitive case study problems, and as such provides a valuable insight into the challenges that must be faced in the upcoming years. High Integrity Software is suitable as a secondary text for a graduate level course, and as a reference for researchers and practitioners in industry.

This volume includes the full proceedings from the 1995 Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) Annual Conference held in Orlando, Florida. The research and presentations offered in this volume cover many aspects of marketing science including marketing strategy, consumer behavior, advertising, branding, international marketing, marketing education, among others. Founded in 1971, the Academy of Marketing Science is an international organization dedicated to promoting timely explorations of phenomena related to the science of marketing in theory, research, and practice. Among its services to members and the community at large, the Academy offers conferences, congresses and symposia that attract delegates from around the world. Presentations from these events are published in this Proceedings series, which offers a comprehensive archive of volumes reflecting the evolution of the field. Volumes deliver cutting-edge research and insights, complimenting the Academy’s flagship journals, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS) and AMS Review. Volumes are edited by leading scholars and practitioners across a wide range of subject areas in marketing science.

A practical go-to reference for Web developers programming custom software for Web sites Most advanced Web sites or Web platforms have specific requirements that go beyond standard functionality; to meet such requirements, it's often necessary to develop custom software. This is the point where code and content meet, and where this book begins. Where Code and Content Meet presents a collection of real-world, tried and tested patterns that address content-related aspects of custom software development for advanced Web sites or platforms. Mined from a series of successful Web projects, the patterns represent collected expertise of designers from several software development teams and serve as a practical guide to designing your own content-related custom components for your Web project. The patterns are independent of specific tools and technologies, and focus on non-functional requirements, with the overall goal of defining sustainable software architecture. Presents a collection of tried and tested software patterns mined from a series of successful Web projects Includes checklists for managing Web projects and real-world patterns from PLoP conferences Illustrates use of software patterns through a case study that runs throughout the book and gradually evolves as the patterns are applied to it, one by one Covers content modeling and content organization, navigation, findability, personalization, and user participation By employing the software patterns included in Where Code and Content Meet, you'll learn how to program custom software faster and more efficiently.

The private and public sectors depend heavily upon info. tech. systems to perform essential, mission-critical functions. As existing technology evolves and new technologies are introduced to provide improved capabilities and advanced features in systems, new technology-related vulnerabilities often arise. Organizations implementing and using advanced technologies must be on guard. One such category of technologies is active content, which refers to electronic documents that can carry out or trigger actions automatically without an individual directly or knowingly invoking the actions. Exploits based on vulnerabilities in active content technologies can be insidious. This report recommends key guidelines for dealing with active content. Illus.
