A novel about transforming organizations from the author ofbestselling business books The Goal and Zapp! The Cure is a novel for managers about transforming anunder-performing bureaucratic organization into a boundaryless,fact-driven management culture like the one that made Jack Welch'sGeneral Electric so consistently successful. It offers real, practical advice for overcoming political inertia, reinventing thecompany, and doing it in a year or less. By giving each keycharacter a distinct voice, readers are reminded of people theyhave met and who may even sit in the desk next to them. Thesecharacters interact realistically and act pragmatically, and as aresult readers become invested in how these people tackle theirchallenges and create real solutions. The methods described in the book have been successfully employedat many of high-profile companies, such as Black & Decker,Coleman, Emerson, Parker Hannifin, Textron, United Stationers, andMoen. The Cure argues that modern organizations must be flexible, quick, and boundaryless in order to thrive and survive, but it alsoshows managers how to make it happen fast. Based on the successfulmanagement theories of Dan Paul's General Management Technologies,The Cure accomplishes these things in the form of an entertaining, enlightening, and dramatic business narrative. Jeff Cox (Murrysville, PA) is a creative writer known for weavingprogressive business concepts into compelling fiction. He is thecoauthor of such business bestsellers as The Goal, Zapp!, andHeroz. Dan Paul (Pittsburgh, PA) is CEO of General ManagementTechnologies, a consulting practice which focuses on the alignmentof clients' strategies, work processes, and culture in order totarget all the functions of a business on the same priorities.Formerly with General Electric, he's worked with many high-profileclients and spoken at many conferences on strategic management forBusiness Week and the American Management Association.

According to the United States Government, the events depicted in this book never actually ever happened. A wife dies of cancer while her husband, a physician watches helplessly. He creates a machine that can cure all the cancer on Earth along with infectious disease, but the United States Government, the pharmacological companies, the hospitals, the medical association and the mob all want him dead. Why wouldn't anyone want the scourge of cancer eradicated forever? It would destroy the economy of the world and render rich and powerful people suddenly poor.

Hannah Sinclaire, the teenage daughter of a fiercely conservative Southern preacher, contracts AIDS through a one-time sexual encounter with the local playboy. Hannah's fall and illness marks her as the embodiment of what her father and his rising social organization, People for a Better America, are fighting against. Shunned and rejected as immoral, damned, and deserving of death, she is put away in a hospice for HIV and AIDS patients. Hannah's younger sister, her only support, pledges to resist their father's pressure to let "the sinner" bear the consequences of her choices "outside the camp," but quickly disappears from Hannah's side. Wasted in body and spirit, and devoid of the company of "good people," Hannah struggles to find life, love, and healing.

Corporate greed meets scientific altruism in Morad Zaffron's white-knuckle thriller, The Cure. Dr. Susan Conner, a beautiful but traumatized, drug-dependent widow, goes to work for a global pharmaceutical company dispensing a cure for a lethal virus. At first patients get better, but soon they begin vanishing or dying, and Susan suddenly finds her own life on the line. Believing her salvation might lie with Dr. Vincent Bach, the young scientist who developed the cure, she is desperate to find him; but she is on the run as a fugitive from the police and the FBI and is also being hunted by assassins hired by the drug corporation. A taut, tense medical drama, The Cure explores big business, new medicine, and whether true love can indeed conquer all.

In the 70s, a small group of men were engaged in a covert operation in Africa. At the end of the operation a decision was made to bring some refugees to the states. Time has passed and one of the little girls has become a very popular prostitute on the streets of LA. She has been murdered and routine blood tests has revealed that not only was she disease free but her blood could contain a cure for AIDS and several other diseases. During the routine process of disposing of the remains, she is cremated and the extra blood is destroyed. A search begins for her family. The search involves the LAPD, they bring in ICE and they bring in the DOD and the CIA. This is no simple missing person case. The last surviving member of the original mission is required to go to Africa. Our story follows a simple school teacher who has to take a leave of absence to try to find the cure for AIDS.
