The Secret Thoughts of Dogs, Cats and Everything

Tiny Confessions

Ever wonder what your dachshund, bulldog, great dane, or tabby cat are *really* thinking? Wonder no more, because artist and comedian Christopher Rozzi has channeled the innermost thoughts of canines and felines (along with the occasional rabbit or robot) and painted their portraits with great affection and humor. Garnering attention and raves from Flavorwire, Laughing Squid, Fab.com, and elsewhere, Tiny Confessions has attracted a growing fan base among pet lovers, art lovers, and anyone with a good sense of humor. In this endearing and very funny collection of color portraits, candid pets will reveal insights including: "What you see as dancing is just me desperately scrambling to earn ham." "That mess I made is my way of thanking you for my awesome name." "I forgot where I buried that thing that you loved."

“Complex and intelligent, fantastically well-plotted” (New York Times bestselling author John Lescroart), this taut legal thriller follows the trail of a man determined to protect his community—and his family—at any cost. Sometimes a simple walk in the woods can lead you down the deadliest of trails… When birdwatcher Cassandra Randall stumbles upon two men digging what appears to be a grave in a state park, she immediately reports it to the authorities. Federal prosecutor Nick Davis is initially incredulous about her claims, but he agrees to investigate. To his surprise, the far-fetched account turns up a body, and Nick is drawn into a case that will shake both his morals and his personal life to their very core. One body quickly leads to another. The danger Cassandra has uncovered is just the beginning of a game of deadly stakes that implicates small-time drug dealers, petty thieves turned murderers, domestic abuse perpetrators, child pornographers, the highest offices of the legal system…and a criminal who is closer to Davis than he can even imagine.

Working Class Heroines

The Extraordinary Women of Dublin’s Tenements

Working Class Heroines

In Working Class Heroines acclaimed historian Kevin C. Kearns brings us the voices of the forgotten women of Dublin’s tenements. If it weren’t for his work the lives of these everyday heroines would be lost forever. Based on 30 years of research spent interviewing and recording the life stories of the working-class women of Dublin, it covers the squalid tenement days of the early 1900s, through the mid-century decades of ‘slumland’ block flats, and into the 1970s when deadly drugs infiltrated poor neighbourhoods, terrifying mothers and stealing away their children. What emerges is an intimate and poignant celebration of the mammies and grannies who held the fabric of family life in an environment of hardship and, often, cruelty. Through vivid tales of how they coped with grinding poverty, huge families, pitiless landlords, the oppressive Church, dictatorial priests, feckless and often abusive husbands, these remarkable women shine with astonishing dignity, wit, pride and a resilient spirit, despite their struggles. Working Class Heroines gives voice and pays tribute to the long silent, unsung heroines who were the indispensable caretakers of both family and community, and remains one of the most important Irish feminist documents of our times. “The ordinary woman has long been absent from our national narrative. I think we should be grateful that Working Class Heroines exists, and we can benefit now from listening to these voices.’ Ellen Coyne, The Sunday Times

Reflections

Reflections

Well firstly let me thank you for buying my book, it means a lot to me and I hope you enjoy it. I started writing poems when I was about 8 years old; I produced my own poetry book at the age of 9, made copies and handed them out around my primary school. Moving into my secondary school days I lost the excitement for writing poetry and began to write short stories about weird and wonderful worlds. Despite obviously being into writing at a very young age, this slipped my mind when deciding a subject to study at university as I went on to get a 2.1 in Forensic Science. Now living in London I have re-kindled my love for writing resulting in this light poetry book written as I reflected over my life thus far. Enjoy.
